Schools & Organisations
I specialise in collaborative problem solving, consultation and dynamic assessment. I believe that the best way to generate change is to create a shared understanding of the child and the current situation and create solutions and next steps together.
Families and schools are the experts on the child and I build on your knowledge to help move things forward and develop your confidence and skills in meeting children’s needs.
Services I offer:
Individual Case work
I use a wide range of tools to help unpick a CYP's strengths and difficulties, which I tailor to best fit the case, these include:
- Consultation
- Group problem solving
- Observations
- Personal Construct Psychology to help gain and understand CYP's views
- Dynamic Assessment
- Brief functional assessment
I am able to assess a child's cognitive profile, however, I do not carry out standardised assessments (often referred to as cognitive assessments) which provide percentiles, standardised scores and age equivalents. This is because I believe that there are more effective ways of understanding a child's learning profile.
I use Dynamic Assessment methods which focus on a child's capacity to learn and what teaching strategies are most effective in supporting them. This approach also provides a more holistic view of the CYP's learning profile including cognitive and affective factors, such as motivation and concentration.
Group problem solving & systemic approaches
I believe working together to create a shared understanding and move things forward can be a powerful experience for families and schools. I use a range of group problem solving models including:
- Circle of Adults
- Solution circles
- Mentoring and coaching
- MAPS
- PATHS
- Force field analysis

I work flexibly to meet your needs, we can create a service level agreement or work on a standalone basis for short-term work. Standalone work and service level agreements can be commissioned at any point during the school year. Service level agreements can help your school plan effectively for the year ahead and ensure availability, they can also be ‘topped up’ where needed.
